Dr. Yang Duan, a research fellow at the Department of Radiology in Brigham and Women's Hospital, received his Ph.D in medical imaging. Since 1990, he has been a radiologist in Liaoning Cancer Hospital in China and China Medical University. He has now returned to China as a research professor.
Yang is doing research work on brain MRI imaging analysis in multiple sclerosis. The main purpose of his research is to find a way for early diagnosis of MS and to explain the clinical dysfunction of MS patients exactly by advanced MRI techniques and medical computer reconstruction techniques, including Functional MRI, MRI Tensor Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS), and Magnetic Transfer Imaging. All research is helpful for early MS diagnosis and evaluation and monitoring in MS drug trials.
